The Bridge Monster
As the story goes, there is a monster that lives under all of the drawbridges. He is not dangerous, he will not eat you. He is only curious, just a little mischievous and, of course, shy………
No one has ever really seen the Bridge Monster. He stays well hidden; only a few have seen little glimpses and peeks of his tiny little hands and his seven-toed feet. No one knows where he came from or how he got here, not even the Bridge Tenders who safely raise and lower the bridge for all the people who pass over and under.
This book is dedicated to the English couple I met this past May, who, just by my good luck, happened to stop before heading back home to England, and shared one of the park benches with me at Coquina Beach near the Longboat Key Pass Bridge. We had such a wonderful conversation about what the area has to offer, the wildlife we found interesting, giving me the idea for another book as we sat there listening to the cars pass over the bridge.
Thanks, I hope our paths will cross again.
